Drapanias is a village in a distance of 25 minutes by car from Chania. It’s just a few metres away from Nopigia village and 3 km away from the town of Kastelli where you can find anything you need: community health center, chemist’s, supermarkets, bakeries, gas stations, post office, banks and cash machines. Drapanias is a coastal and mountainous village. The mountainous part of the village has got a population of 500 inhabitants, and it features picturesque, narrow alleys and beautiful churches where you can admire the stunning view. In the village, you can buy goods from food stores and mini markets, or you can visit traditional restaurants and cafés. A beautiful olive groves dotted path leads you to the coastal part of Drapanias, a part clean and unaffected by mass tourism. Drapanias beach offers you a great chance to swim in clean waters, relax and enjoy sunbathing in a serene environment. Alternatively, there is the part of the beach where you can sunbathe in a more cosmopolitan environment with sun beds and umbrellas or even spend time in the cafés and traditional restaurants which offer a variety of Cretan cuisine flavours.
