Here you'll also find a large dinning table. Our kitchen is designed for functionality to cook big meals. It is fully stocked and equipped with everything you need and more: - oven, stove, fridge, kettle, toaster - dishwasher - plenty of pots/pans/platters - Serving utensils - wine glasses - the swimming pool is not heated. - your Nespresso machine!! The upper floors are reachable by stairs. The bedrooms are on both floors (master bedroom upstairs) and they are equipped with: - queen beds with anatomic mattresses and Hypoallergenic pillows - cotton-satin bedlinen and towels - wide windows and a patio door onto ample private veranda with 180° views over the village and the countryside. - dedicated workspace - closets - hair dryer - extra pillows and blanket - Room-darkening rollers Our washing machine, iron and ironing board are in the utility room upstairs. There are 2 bathrooms, one on each floor. Both are equipped with showers, whereas the master bath also has a bathtub. A central A/C system (cooling-heating) runs throughout the whole house and can be individually adjusted in each room. Outdoor areas are fenced and are equipped with patio furniture.

Our villa lies at the edge of ''Skalani'', at altitude of 244 meters and a distance of about 10 km from the city of Heraklion. For the first time the name of the village is found in a deed of 1271 and also in several papers in the next few years until the first Venetian census of 1577. We can find it in all subsequent inventories to date, integrated in different municipalities according to the administrative reforms that followed. It is a village with a strong presence in history and tradition in Heraklion, rich vineyard and olive products and industrious and hospitable people. Today the village is full of life and growth. It features traditional and modern shops, butchers, hairdressers, salons, clinics, pharmacies, services, winery, raki, focal centres - restaurants, taverns, ouzo and meze, constituting a "small Heraklion" in the Region of Heraklion. The active Cultural Association of the village organizes a number of events in recurring basis, such as the two-day festival in celebration of St. John (August 29), with a procession of the image of the Saint (accompanying the Municipal band) and traditional music festivals, church service in the chapel of Agios Nikolaos in Siganou, feast of Our Lady (August 15), Halloween events, musical evenings and other summer festivities. This place is paradise for wanderers and trekking fans. The visitors can visit several places of natural beauty (Siganos mill , Agios Minas in "Aposami" , etc.) or to follow natural hiking paths as in Canyon of Karteros – Skalani, with recreation area next to the wooden bridge, the pine forest of Agia Irini in Spilia and more. You can also visit the very well organized «Vegetable municipal garden» in the village. The village square with its picturesque cafes, offers great opportunities to enjoy live traditional music, as the village has a large and famous tradition of Cretan musicians, authors and artists (Abyssinia, Vassilakis Papadoperakis Thomas and Aspasia, etc..).
