Alikampos is a beautiful traditional mountainous village, situated at an altitude of 310 meters in the foothills of the White Mountains. It is 40 km from the city of Chania, just 6 miles from the neighboring village Vrises and only a few kilometers away from the beach of Georgioupolis. It belongs to the municipality of Apokoronos. The view of the White Mountains from Alikampos is breathtaking for visitors and when you stay at villa Eternity you will enjoy that view from the large terrace. The hills around the village are overgrown with pine trees. The village is famous mainly for its wines and about its 250 permanent residents are engaged in farming operations. In the village, you will find a small cafe and some small groceries and shops. You will also see the church of the Ascension, which is a small Byzantine chapel with great frescoes dating back to the 14th century. John Pagomenos has created them during the years 1315 and 1316. Last near the settlement are identified by archaeologists’ items from the Pre-Minoan Era which indicates that this place has been inhabited for thousands of years.
