A recently renovated traditional Cretan village house. It has two bedrooms and sleeps 4. Air conditioning in the bedrooms . Lovely courtyard with sitting facilities and an upstairs balcony. Mountain views. The house can sleep 4 in two bedrooms and has a toilet upstairs and a shower and toilet downstairs. There is central heating for the winter months. There are full cooking facilities and a washing machine.

Having lived and worked as a secondary school teacher in England for over 25years, myself and my wife- Ruth have recently retired home to the beautiful island of Crete after meeting here 35 years ago. We have three daughters who don't seem to mind the commute to visit us, and we have two dogs that we rescued that keep us active. We have now lovingly restored two traditional village properties one being our family home and through a lot of practice I have found a new passion for building...who said retirement would be peaceful. With the great weather comes delicious fruit and vegetables from my ever growing allotment and my love of snorkelling and scuba diving is always satisfied in the turquoise sea - another bonus of living in this sunny isle. We love to entertain family and friends with BBQs and traditional Greek recipes and our home is known as "the best restaurant in the village". Originally from Athens and moving to the island in my early 20's I have a wealth of historical knowledge about Greece and Crete itself which I love to share over a raki and meze...Yammas!

The house is in the popular village of Mavrikiano, just above Elounda. It is only few hundred meters from Elounda and very close to the sea. You can arrive by taxi to the house or drive yourself there. Minibus transfers do not come due to narrow streets but we can pick you up from a convenient drop off point like Elounda Square. Bus services are the same, you will be dropped off in the square and we will pick you up.
