My name is Filia and with my three children we successfully run our business, which has been based in tourism for many years. We rent houses and rooms, while at the same time are we operating a car rental company. We live on the lower floor of our guesthouse in our beautiful little village Pitsidia and we are happy to greet and welcome each year our guests and spoil them with small attentions. We want to give our guests the feeling that they are home. Therefore, we believe that being close to our guests is very important and with many of our regular visitors we have maintained a friendly and cordial relationship for many years. Pleasant and satisfied visitors are our motto! We will be glad to host you soon as our guests!

"Filia Rooms" is located in a very quiet place, far away from the hustle of Matala. Matala beach, however, is only 800 meters away. Surrounded by nature, our rooms are located on 2 floors. Each room is equipped with a WC / bathroom with shower, air conditioning, satellite TV and Wi-Fi and has a small outdoor area inviting you to sit and enjoy. In 2 of our rooms there is a kitchenette which is equipped with a fridge and a hot plate; the rest rooms have a communal kitchen. From here you can easily make your excursions to the traditional villages of the area and visit the sights of our beautiful island. We can gladly arrange for you a rental car or a scooter and we will happily help you plan your trip.

Neighborhood info

When the first "hippies" came to Matala in the late 1960s and lived the spirit of that time on the beach, the place was still underdeveloped. People from all over the world, mostly young Americans who refused to participate in the Vietnam War, came here. The small community of the village accepted and admired them and so began tourism in South Crete. The first residents perceived this growth and started their businesses. Today you will find many taverns, bars, hotels and hostels, souvenir shops and many more in Matala. In the center of the village there are almost no cars during the season. This invites you to sit and relax in one of the beautiful cafes or taverns ... Matala beach is in a bay and surrounded by huge rocks of sandstone. The famous caves of Matala in the northern part seem like a giant ant nest ... The spirit of the 1960s and 70s can still be felt everywhere because; Today is life! Tomorrow never comes...!
