It is perfect for travellers seeking slow, & mindful days. At Ftero Retreats, memories unfold naturally—from morning coffee with the sea breeze to wine beneath a sky full of stars.
Found on the southwestern coast of Ikaria, the village of Magganitis offers raw natural beauty and timeless island tradition. It is carved between dramatic granite cliffs and the shimmering Aegean Sea. Once a secluded settlement reachable only by foot or boat, Magganitis remains a place seemingly untouched by time—where simplicity still guides daily life. Its stone-built homes and warm-hearted locals create an intimate and authentic atmosphere. The surrounding landscape is a ideal for explorers: hidden coves like Seychelles Beach, famed for its turquoise waters, or Firodi beach which is perfect for families. Mountain trails invite quiet hikes through olive trees and fragrant herbs. In the evenings, guests can head down to the port to enjoy traditional Ikarian cuisine at the local tavernas that serve traditional food and fresh seafood.
