Set on a hill overlooking the Aegean Sea, Hortensia Villa has breath-taking views at a peaceful location close to Andros main town (Chora) near several famed beaches. Equally surrounded by spectacular multi-level garden, planted with lawn, cypresses, various kinds of roses as well as orange, lemon and olive trees, only to name a few of the elements comprising the lush landscape of the Estate. The private swimming pool is located in a beautifully shaped area at the front side of the property.

Hortensia Villa stands on the slopes of Ipsila, a small hillside settlement above the southeastern coast of Andros, where the land tilts down toward the Aegean and the whole gulf of Chora opens up below. This is the green side of the island with the ridgeline of Gerakonas rising behind the villa and the sea filling the horizon in front of it. Chora, the island's capital, is roughly 4.5 kilometers away by road: a marble-paved town built by shipowners, stretching along a narrow peninsula between two beaches, with the Goulandris Museum of Contemporary Art, the Archaeological Museum, and the Maritime Museum all packed into its walkable center, alongside bakeries, tavernas, and the little harbor quarter where fishing boats still tie up. The nearest beaches, Nimborio, Paraporti, and Gialia, each sit around four kilometers from the villa, so a morning swim is a ten-minute drive in any direction. A short way inland lie the spring-fed villages of Menites and Apikia, shaded by plane trees and crossed by old stone paths; this corner of Andros is the trailhead country of the island's famous walking network, with centuries-old mule tracks linking villages, watermills, and hidden coves. The neighborhood itself is residential and unhurried: scattered houses, dovecotes, dry-stone walls, and gardens that stay green through August thanks to the island's underground water. Guests get the rare combination Andros does best genuine countryside quiet with a living town minutes away, where the evening options run from a museum opening in Chora to grilled fish by the water at Nimborio, and the drive home ends with the lights of the capital glittering below the terrace.
