Step into an authentic Skyrian house, full of character, tradition, and warmth — ideal for families or small groups seeking peace and relaxation in a quiet village setting.
Inside, you will find a beautifully decorated living area featuring handmade copper utensils and traditional Skyrian ceramics, wooden details that reflect the island’s authentic atmosphere, and a fully equipped kitchen. The layout of the house is perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration — or simply enjoying a relaxed family breakfast.
The house features one open-plan bedroom, where a comfortable double bed and a sofa that converts into a double bed are located within the same space. In addition, the traditional Skyrian “sfa” (living room loft) — a distinctive element of local architecture — offers one single bed, accessed via a small ladder. The loft has a low ceiling, preserving its authentic character and offering a unique accommodation experience.
Outdoors, guests can enjoy meals or moments of relaxation in the covered courtyard, complete with a traditional built-in barbecue and views of the village and surrounding hills — the perfect spot for summer evenings under the stars.
An authentic Skyrian retreat for those who appreciate simplicity, warmth, and tradition.
One of the things that Skyros is famous for is its architecture and traditional houses. As almost the entire island is a traditional settlement, there are no interventions that alter its homogeneous aesthetics. The Skyrian houses, despite being a few square meters, have a particular aesthetic while being fully functional.
The living room, bedroom (sfas), storage room and kitchen (apokrevates), fireplace, while the plates, and bric-a-brac are displayed on the walls, all in a very small space.
Carved small furniture such as chests, stools, tables, famous handmade and beautifully drawn plates, weavings and embroidery are not only the heritage that the younger people received from the older ones and continue to honor, they are the functional furnishing and decoration of every home.
The walls of the house and the space above the fireplace are adorned with all utilitarian and decorative objects, ceramic, glass and metal. The origin, scarcity and quantity of these objects are a sign of their owners' financial strength and social prestige.
