Inspired by Captain Manolis Sarris, who in 1910 moved into the imposing family stonehouse that would later house his family, the property was lovingly restored and expanded by his grandchildren. It preserves the Genoese-influenced arched cellars and the centuries-old doors and windows of the front entrance. Kapetanospito, Greek for Captain’s house, is a tribute to Kardamyla’s nautical tradition and offers two separate three-level vacation homes, each with its own size and character. Booked individually, each of them offers an authentic, private, and comfortable holiday base for 2-6 people from which to explore Chios, enjoy the Greek lifestyle, and even get some work done! Together, they comprise the perfect setting to accommodate larger groups and family reunions for up to 12 guests. The best way to get to Kapetanospito is by car. A car is also highly recommended to get around and explore the villages and natural beauties of Northern Chios, including to visit the nearby beaches and seaside tavernas. There are car rental companies to choose from at the port and airport of Chios. Kapetanospito lies at the edge of the historic village of Ano Kardamyla and there is road access, with a specific route we recommend that avoids the narrow streets of the village, and free parking options on the street or at a nearby municipal parking area
