Lirenou Scala Vista is run by SYMI VIEW, a small family business. The house is where my father grew up, watching over Gialos harbour for over a century, and we brought it back to life ourselves over a two-year restoration, preserving its traditional soul while adding the comfort modern travellers expect. We are hands-on hosts: our local manager welcomes you on arrival, helps with your luggage up the staircase and shares the island's best-kept secrets, and we offer complimentary transfers to and from the port. Our aim is simple: to make you feel at home and experience the real, authentic Symi. We look forward to welcoming you.

At the very top of Symi's iconic 98-step Lirenou Staircase, beside the historic War Memorial and high above Gialos harbour, the property enjoys an unobstructed 180-degree view of the port and town. Dating back to 1900 and one of the most photographed spots on Symi, this landmark house was restored over nearly two years with deep care. Original character meets full modern comfort: an authentic three-level wooden ceiling, traditional Symi stone fireplaces (beautifully restored as decorative features), A/C, fast Wi-Fi, fully equipped kitchens and smart TVs. Two autonomous floors (KATOI & ANOI) with the largest private terraces on Symi, booking separately or together for up to 11 guests.

You're in the heart of Gialos, Symi's beautiful harbour town, surrounded by neoclassical mansions and a lively waterfront of tavernas, cafés and shops, all just down the steps. Thanks to the elevated, secluded setting you'll have practically no immediate neighbours, a rare kind of peace on Symi. The closest beach, Nos, is about a 12-minute walk, while boat taxis from Gialos reach lovely coves such as Agia Marina and Agios Georgios (Dysalonas). Wander up the Kali Strata to the old village of Chorio for the Castle of the Knights and the museums, or visit the famous Panormitis Monastery by road. Symi is connected by ferry to Rhodes, the nearest airport. Don't miss the local Symi shrimp and the summer Symi Festival.
