Palaia Fokaia is situated near the Saronic Gulf coast, at the foot of the Olympos hill (487 m) and only 15 minutes drive from the famous Cape Sounio, where the temple of Poseidon lies for centuries. It is 2 km north of Anavissos, 4 km east of Saronida, 10 km west of Lavrio, 34 km southeast of Athens city center and 31 km of Athens International Airport. The Greek National Road 91 (Athens - Sounion) passes south of the town, along the coast. A plethora of beaches can be reached within 5 minutes by car. For some extra pleasure try scuba diving with experienced trainers in the numerous interesting areas of the Saronic Gulf, or do water sports in the Anavyssos Gulf (kite surf, wind surf etc.). For even more action try Parapente, Hang gliding, Paragliding up on the Olympos hill. A 5-minute car drive can take you to stores for you shopping needs at the suburbs of Anavyssos or a 10-minute car drive to port of Lavrio.
