The restored 1920 cottage has two floors. On the upper floor there are two bedrooms, one with a double-bed and the other with two single beds. Both rooms use ceiling fans rather than air-conditioners. Downstairs is the living room with a sofa that can easily be transformed into a double-bed when needed, a fireplace, a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen. On the ground floor there is one large bathroom and a smaller bathroom. Free wireless internet access and TV are provided. A timber terrace is constructed adjacent to the house, with spectacular views to the sea. Enjoy your wine while the sun slowly sinks into the sea right in front of your eyes! In the beautiful and peaceful outdoor area, you will find a large wooden dining table, umbrellas and other garden furniture, terrace shower and sink, a well, a pond with waterlilies and a tree-house that children will love! Five minutes walking distance through the property you reach a unique natural balcony to the Ionian Sea and access to a rocky beach with crystal clear water, or you can find your way to the ‘secret steps’ that lead to a small and less rocky beach. Both choices will in most instances ensure privacy.

My name is Christine Mercouri-Fragkou and I am a chemist and an enologist. I inherited this olive grove from my father in 1985 and almost immediately I started an effort to continue its cultivation. Since 1996 the field is completely organic and since 2006 the olive trees are cultivated with homeodynamic methods, producing a special and widely awarded organic extra virgin olive oil. In 2006 I thought of trying with agritourism, so I started hosting, through which I realised this was something I also loved doing! I appreciate sharing this very special land of my ancestors with people from all over the world, watching them being transformed through the beauty, the positive energy and the peacefulness of this place. Most of the times, I keep in contact with my guests after they have left. There is nothing I enjoy more than getting to know them for a while during their stay, over a home cooked meal with Mercouri Olive Groves olive oil and a bottle of Mercouri estate wine!

The property is situated in Korakohori (Western Peloponnese, Ilia Prefecture), 3.8km from the picturesque harbor of Katakolon and 29km from Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games. It is part of the renowned Mercouri Estate with a long tradition in the production of excellent wines and special extra virgin olive oil since 1860. A visit to the Mercouri winery which is only 1km away from the cottage, to taste some of the best Greek wines, visit the small but very interesting museum and enjoy the surroundings by the sound of the peacocks, is an experience you should not miss! If big sandy and crowded beaches are more to your liking you can easily access the famous Levendohori beach by car as it is only 3km away. If you feel like driving, the Ilia Prefecture offers countless areas which can satisfy various interests of both summer and winter travelers: the medieval castle of Kyllini, the temple of Epicurius Apollo and Ancient Elis, Ancient Olympia (UNESCO World Heritage Sites), the waterfall of Neda, the Foloi forest, the endless beach of Kaiafa are only a few of them.
