Milies offers a unique mix of culture, nature, and easy access to the sea. Highlights include the historic Milies Train Station, where the famous Pelion steam train “Moutzouris” begins its scenic route, the Public Library of Milies, one of the oldest in Greece, and the beautiful Church of Taxiarches. The village square, shaded by centuries-old plane trees, is ideal for enjoying local cafés and traditional tavernas. Numerous walking and hiking trails start from the village, leading through lush forests and old stone paths with panoramic views. Despite its mountain setting, Milies is conveniently close to the sea. The beaches of the Pagasetic Gulf (such as Koropi and Afetes) are approximately 10-15 minutes by car. The famous beaches of the Aegean Sea, including Kalamaki (15 min) , Potistika (45 min), Labinou (30 min) Mylopotamos (50), Papa Nero, and Agios Ioannis (55 min) , can be reached in less than an hour by car, offering crystal-clear waters and dramatic scenery. From Milies, guests can also easily visit well-known Pelion villages such as Tsagarada (40 min), Makrinitsa, Portaria (50 min), and Vizitsa (5min), each offering unique architecture, panoramic views, and traditional cuisine. The city of Volos, with its lively waterfront and famous tsipouradika, is about 35–40 minutes away, making it perfect for a day trip. During the winter months, the Pelion Ski Center in Chania is easily accessible in about 60 minutes by car, offering ski slopes with sea views, equipment rentals, and cozy mountain lodges—making Milies a wonderful destination all year round.
