Perfect for nature enthusiasts, visitors can embark on various excursions to explore the picturesque landscapes, and search for all the hiking trails leading to the area's various points of interest. A few kilometers southeast of the house is the stone church of Agios Georgios Sfakiotes, a must-visit destination for enjoying gorgeous views of the plain. Explore the uphill route from Geraki to Agia Anna's beautiful church. Whether hiking or driving a 4x4, the view from the chapel is stunning, overlooking Gerakiani Lagkada's wild landscapes. Definitely worth a visit. The ancient site of Lyttos, which was one of the island’s main settlements, is located only a few kilometers away, and so are various authentic Cretan villages, such as Kastamonitsa and Episkopi. There are plenty of places for traditional Cretan food in the vicinity, such as Decauville, offering delicious mezedes. If you’re coming in August, make sure not to miss the various local feasts filled with traditional music, theatrical performances, and cultural exhibitions.
