Marpissa is a charming and picturesque village on Paros, one of the most beautiful islands in the Cyclades. It is located on the eastern side of the island, about 17 kilometers from Parikia, the capital of Paros, and near the seaside resort of Piso Livadi. The architecture of Marpissa is characteristic of the Cyclades, with narrow cobblestone alleys, white houses with blue doors and windows, and small picturesque squares. This traditional setting creates a sense of authenticity and tranquility that impresses visitors. The history of Marpissa is rich and stretches back centuries. It is one of the oldest villages on Paros and maintains its traditional character. The location of the village on a hill made it a natural fortress in earlier times, providing protection to its inhabitants. One of the most important attractions of Marpissa is the Monastery of Saint Anthony.
