Sterna Residence, located in the medieval castle of Emporeios, is a traditional two-storey tower of the mid 17th Century. It collapsed, along with the rest castle after the devastating earthquake of 1933. Its restoration was completed in 2014 designed by Greg Haji Joannides and restored by architect Giorgos Tsironis. Restoring the authentic architecture of the building was achieved thanks to following the traditional building manner and using the genuine building materials. Sterna Residence stands on the top of Emporeios village, within the medieval castle of Pantoniki, overlooking the surrounding islands, the crater of Nisyros and Asia Minor, offering a 360 views. The ground floor is an open space with kitchen, living room and working space along with one bathroom with shower, while the first floor has two large bedrooms and the second bathroom with shower. Each bedroom has a private balcony offering spectacular views and privacy. The house also has an outdoor living space with a dining table with comfortable sofa, a hammock, as well as a really cool rooftop lounge area. The Residence hosts the Sterna Art Project, an international residency program that supports contemporary art since 2014.

Sterna Residence is located in the medieval castle of Emporeios village. A traditional stonewashed path of 150m leads from the free public parking lot to the entrance of the castle, where some steps lead in the castle and the house.
