The area is tranquil and there is usually a soft breeze at night due to the top of a hill position, though only one more block away from the nearby beach. Nearby are the cathedral of St. Nicolas where the Greek revolution took place in 1821. One may stroll through nice alleys among famous istoric mansions that are featured in most of the island postcards.
