To Petradi (the gem in English) is a small house but it hasn't always been a house! It used to be my grandfather's barn, believe it or not! One day, I decided that I would turn this little barn to something unique and beautiful. With the help of a good engineer, the ideas of a good architect and a lot of stubbornness, I managed to turn it around! The end result made me feel so content, that i decided to name the small property The Gem (To Petradi)!
My name is Kostas and I am the cook (I think they call us ''Chef'' these days! lol ) at our family-owned tavern To Asteri (The Star). As you can read from the above description, I am the guy who decided to turn the little barn to a small but beautiful house!
Quiet village, few people. wonderful view to the Aegean sea, no cars allowed into the village! Avgonima is a medieval quiet village with very few permanent residents. It is located at 500 height from the sea, thus giving it a unique view over the Aegean sea! The sunset from our rooms is a wonderful spectacle on its own! Please keep in mind, that the village is a traditional quiet one, not a full-of-shops and bars- kind of village. If you want to go to the beach (any beach) nearby, I warn you that you should have a car. If you want to buy groceries, again, you should have a car! In other words, BRING a car!
