The challenges of the 2020 pandemic underscored the importance of escaping urban environments and returning to rural, secure locations with ample space. Chris and his wife chose to embark on a retreat to Mathraki, where they own a residence. During their six-month stay, they discovered that Mathraki is a paradise for sea lovers, naturalists, and provides an ideal hilly setting for intensive training in endurance, gymnastics, and Olympic weightlifting.
