I am an architect who loves nature, traditional architecture, detailing, good food and cooking. I like peace instead of noisy places and I love to accomodate nice people who appreciate the place and the facilities we offer. Perhaps we offer limited facilities comparing to big hotels, but our intention was the simplicity and the human natural scale.

Viraggas is the perfect place for relaxation, combining the tradition, the quality, the peacefulness, the amazing natural environment, the homelike facilities and comforts, excellent homemade food and the detail in everything. It is the ideal escape from busy places, quite remote from the crowds. Ideal place for walks around the nature, with lots of trails through the forest for walking, biking, bird watching e.t.c.. Viraggas is an hour drive from Ouranoupolis for those who wish to visit Mt.Athos. There are also other famous archeological sites or religious monuments which worth a visit. It is ideal for a day trip to Meteora, Kavala or Kerkini's lake since it is the perfect retreat during the summer season when everywhere else, there is heat and lots of trafic and crowds. The beaches of Chalkidiki are so many and quite close to Viraggas. Viraggas is open all through the year and every day has its beauty. All these years, we are trying quite hard to maintain or even improve our quality and we are always thankfull to our excellent guests for being here and for their appreciation and reviews.

Neighborhood info

Viraggas is actually in the center of Chalkidiki, so, it is a unique spot to stay and to visit most of the Chalkidiki in a short distance. The village is known since the 8th century because of St. Efthimios and so, lots of guests are visiting the small cave where he lived as an hermit, in a fantastic rocky canyon, 7kms from Viraggas. The main church of the village "Evaggelismos" is very beautiful, dated from the 1814 and it has a very particular and rare interior. The icons are also very precious and mainly those from the Galatsaniki school. In a distance of 12kms by car, next to Ormylia village, there is a very beautiful monastery of "The Annunciation". Around Viraggas, there are lot of trails for walking or biking. The village is situated right on the begining of Holomontas mountain and its forest is one of the best in Greece. The village of Vrastama, is surrounded by hundreds of acres of olive yards and so, the village produces fine extra virgin olive oil. Also, the honey is a top.
