A number of tracks and paths of easy and intermediate levels of difficulty start from Volissos village and wound around the surrounding countryside and villages, allowing you to thoroughly explore the area on foot at your leisure. The medieval village of Volissos and its amenities is but a pleasurable walk away. The refreshing waters of the North Aegean Sea and the delights of the sandy and shingle beaches of Limnos and Lefkathia are a short stroll downhill. The celebrated monastery of Agia Markella is some 4 kms away on the coast. The historic site of Agio Galas with its medieval monastery, natural caves and park is 26 kms away. Agiasmata with its natural thermal springs and public baths is 18 kms. The Ariousios winery for tasting the famous local wines 16 kms.
