Local legend says that the name Punat comes from the Latin word "Pons" - bridge, or in Italian Ponte, which means that in Roman times there was a bridge over the narrow entrance to Puntarska Draga towards the city of Krk. Some say that the name comes from the Greek word "Ho Pontos" which means sea. Today, Punat is a very popular tourist destination... well-organized parks and beaches, rich vegetation, cultural offer - the islet of Košljun and the marina Punat - the home port for all those who enjoy the beauty of the Croatian sea and islands. The apartment is only 500 m from the first beach away, well equipped and modernly decorated, in a quiet location

On the southwestern part of the island of Krk, in one of the most protected harbors, the town of Punat is located, only 8 km from Krk. Punat is also the nautical center of the island, and it will delight you with the old town center, charming streets, century-old preserved olive groves, beautiful beaches and plenty of amenities. The promenade that stretches along the sea is 3.5 kilometers long, and in addition to swimming and sunbathing, it is also ideal for cycling or a leisure walk. In the bay of Punat there is an interesting islet of Košljun with a Franciscan monastery, which has been there since 1447. The boat ride from Punat to Košljun is short and the islet takes only 6 hectares, so the sightseeing won't take much of your time.
