The island of Murter is located on the Croatian Adriatic coast between Zadar and Split in the middle of the Dalmatian island world.
With a length of 11 km, it is certainly not the largest, but one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean.
Jezera’s history spans over 800 years, dating back to the arrival of the first settlers who crafted this idyllic haven away from mass tourism.
The island of Murter is entirely accessible by car, featuring a main road and a bridge connecting it to the mainland. You don't need a car here on Murter. Zadar and Split airports are easy to reach by taxi and bus. Traveling by bus and train is also possible.
Come to Jezera and enjoy your vacation away from mass tourism in one of our apartments or on our sailing yacht.
Within a stone's throw, discover a well-equipped sports field. Book tennis courses, and engage in sporting events for the little ones, including basketball and football. The island cherishes its rich culture and traditions.
Jezera Market Square hosts summer events, including traditional festivals with live music, culinary delights, and beverages such as sea days, regattas with lateen sails, big game fishing, and the Woodstock Jezera rock festival. Renowned artists like Zeljko Bebek and Tomislav Bralic grace the stage. The Jezera Tourism Association provides the event schedule each year.
Explore the vibrant offerings of the surrounding cities with a variety of programs and events. Tradition isn't just celebrated; it's actively embraced in our daily lives. Each year, we islanders passionately partake in olive oil production and fishing with the traditional gajetas remains an integral part of Jezera's identity. For a deeper understanding, venture to Betina, where the most exquisite gajetas grace the fishing harbor. Immerse yourself in the culture at the museum, or observe the skilled craftsmanship of boat builders as they construct these beautiful vessels. Betina also boasts large shipyards with mega yachts on display.
A must-visit highlight of your vacation is the Kornati National Park, accessible via excursion boats from Murter or our One Day Sailing trip.
Further enchantment awaits at the KRKA National Park, with its turquoise lakes and waterfalls, retracing the footsteps of Winnetou. For an unforgettable day trip, explore Šibenik's old town, cathedral, promenade, and vibrant daily vegetable/fish market. Šibenik serves as an ideal launchpad for island hopping to Kakan, Kaprije, and Žirje. Just like Šibenik, Zadar, Split, and Dubrovnik, all UNESCO World Heritage Sites, are easily accessible from here.
