You will recognize the island of Pag by its sparse vegetation, due to the strong wind blowing from Velebit, which is why it is often compared to the surface of the moon and Pag itself is called "Moon Island". At its current location, Pag was built in the 15th century according to the plan of the Croatian builder Juraj Dalmatinac.
