The host Marijana welcomes every guest with a smile and provides all kind of informations that you need. Marijana is working in tourism business for over 10 years ( hotel receptionist, tourist guide etc..)and speaks English, German and Italian. Your host is there for any questions you might have or to give you an advice what to see on Mljet.
Ropa is small village in the middle of island Mljet. The place is very quite, peacefull with only a few houses around. Sourended by pine trees and with singing of crickets makes Ropa ideal for stay. Our bay Garma (rocks) is 400 m walking distance from the rooms away. You can take a swimm in cristyal clear sea or just lay and enjoy the sun and nature.
Since this is small place we do not have restaurants or supermarkets. The closest restaurants you can find in Polače (10 km from Ropa by car) and supermarket 8 km towards Babino Polje. In Babino Polje there is the Odysseus cave - very attractive for tourists for it's perfect light blue color at noon.
15 km from Ropa you will find yourself in heart of Nationalpark Mljet - two beautifull lakes with St.Marys island ( Benedicitine monestary and church). Explore the lakes walking around, kayaking or renting a bikes. Many walking paths are waiting those who prefer acctive vacation.
On the south of our island families (with kids) and everyone loving the sandy beaches can visit Saplunara.
