The owner of Vila Trnoružica graduated in history and librarianship at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. He is a versatile person - a librarian and a journalist, and above all, history lover committed to the idea of preserving traditional heritage.

Close to Vila Trnoružica are Terme Tuhelj (4 km), Zelenjak (5 km), Klanjec (7 km), Kumrovec (7 km) and Veliki Tabor (16 km). Located at the very source of thermal water and healing mud, Terme Tuhelj is the most popular spa center in continental Croatia. The baroque Mihanović castle is also part of the complex. Sights such as the Gallery and Studio of the Antun Augustinčić Gallery, the Franciscan monastery and church and the memorial cemetery give evidence of rich historical and cultural heritage of Klanjec.
