The likeable little town of Gruda sits at the heart of the picturesque Konavle Valley and offers all the amenities for an easy holiday: grocery stores, supermarkets and a handful of coffee bars and restaurants. Villa Bacev, a bright and colourful villa, is to be found in a residential area within walking distance (700m) of Gruda, making it a good choice for friends or a family with older teenagers. From the parking area, steps lead up to Villa Bacev and its pool and garden. Ample terracing around the villa and pool creates a lovely space for dining alfresco and poolside lounging, with a small lawn behind the pool adding a spot of greenness and a place for children to play. To the rear, a substantial barbecue/wood oven, conveniently close to the kitchen, will be in use on many an occasion we are sure. Inside, the open plan living accommodation is light and airy with doors opening out on to the terrace. Upstairs, the three bedrooms are decorated in bright colours, with each one having access to their own facilities.

Easy access to the surrounding area makes Villa Bacev a good option for those seeking to explore and enjoy outdoor activities. The crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea can be reached within 15mins and are ideal for sea kayaking, diving, and of course swimming – head to Cavtat and Molunat amongst others. The Konavle Valley itself, with its verdant green landscape of vineyards, fields and cypress trees, is the most scenic setting for walks, bikes rides and horse riding. And finally, mention must be made of the World Heritage Site of Dubrovnik, reached by way of a straightforward drive (35mins) or a highly enjoyable boat ride from Cavtat – an unmissable day out for everyone.
