The Bagoly-kő Pension can accommodate up to 20 guests and is a dog-friendly property with a 40-seat restaurant. All nine rooms feature private bathrooms and were fully renovated in the spring of 2024. The cozy and charming rooms are named after characters from the works of Hungarian author István Fekete. Guests are welcomed by Vuk, Kele, Lutra, Csí, Tás, Hú, Vahúr, and Karak. The pension is equipped with ducted heating and cooling systems. Hot water is generated primarily through solar energy for most of the year, and we also produce a significant portion of our electricity with solar power. Electric vehicle owners are welcome to use our Type-2 EV charger, available on-site. Behind the pension, a small amphitheater—alongside two additional terraces—provides guests with a relaxing retreat. For active relaxation, the property offers a panoramic sauna, an infrared sauna, and a secluded hot tub nestled in the hillside. The garden was designed with biodiversity in mind and is highly resilient. Guests can also rent electric bicycles at the guesthouse, with the option of guided tours to explore the nearby mountains.
The owner of the pension is Gergely Litkai, a well-known comedian, while the operation is managed by the local Horváth family. Csilla's grandparents also worked in this building, which previously functioned as a glass polishing workshop and a restaurant. Zoltán's father was in charge of running the glassworks at the nearby factory.
Kékes-tető, the highest point of Hungary and Galyatető are just a few kilometers' walk from us, and the Dumaszínház's GarázsSasvár event venue is only 100 meters away. ✅ Our pension is one of the endpoints and a stamping station for the Rákóczi Badge Hike (yellow trail). ✅ We can accommodate larger groups as well. ✅ Mushroom foragers are warmly welcomed, and if needed, you can collect mushrooms with the guidance of an experienced local forager. ✅ If you're just looking for a rest during your hike, feel free to stop by for coffee or a refreshing drink at the Beülő Büfé, which has a capacity of 40 guests.
