We are Annamária and Dani, the hosts of Vándor Kakas Guesthouse. When we first saw this over 100-year-old farmhouse, we immediately knew it would become a special place. For two years, we worked on it: renovating, shaping, and beautifying it—often with our own hands on weekends and days off. Every single object, piece of furniture, and little detail carries our heart and story. Our goal was to preserve the house’s original charm and history while creating a comfortable, cozy, and modern accommodation for our guests. That’s why we chose rustic furniture and folk art pieces, while also ensuring that everything is up-to-date and convenient. It is important to us that anyone who comes here finds not only a place to stay but also an experience and peace of mind. We believe that the beauty of the Mátra Mountains, the tranquility of the surroundings, and the intimate atmosphere of the house together provide that little extra that makes our guests want to return.
