Udis Lawus Buchanan, your host, is a true Manggarai woman who grew up in the Ruteng area. In Hobbit Hill she loves to care about her guests personally. As one of the few people in and around Ruteng she speaks English perfectly, as she has lived in Australia for many years. So she can give you exclusive travel advice and organize drivers and guides for you too.

Property info

Hobbit Hill is a very special and personally run Guesthouse in a quiet area just a few minutes out of Ruteng city center. It consists of a roomy bungalow with a bathroom with a hot water shower and a lovely terrace in a lush garden. In the main building you find another 4 rooms with new comfy beds and terraces too. From here you can also enjoy a very nice view of the surrounding mountains. As a new feature Hobbit Hill provides WiFi. Of course all the rooms have mosquito nets too. Free coffee and tea is offered to all the guests. People interested can have dinner at the family table at a reasonable rate. Udis is an excellent cook. For drivers who would like to spend the night at Hobbit Hill we provide a special drivers room.

Hobbit Hill is set in the rural outskirts of Ruteng. As the name of Hobbit Hill suggests, this guesthouse is on the way to Liang Bua, the famous Hobbit Cave. Around Udis' house you find yourself in the midst of paddy fields. Udis is happy to show you the spiderweb rice fields, Ruteng is well known for.
