Company info

Our names are Rene and Tom and we run Secluded Bali Villas. Although originally from Indonesia and the UK respectively we have lived as far afield as Azerbaijan, UK, Thailand and Malaysia. In July 2008 we both gave up our high stress corporate jobs and took the plunge and committed to only managing and marketing our own villas in Bali, which then grew to taking on the villas of others. We wanted to do it properly however, and so using Tom's corporate background, and Rene's background in hotel management, we registered as a company, set up all the systems and processes, and established an office in Bali as well. Our approach is very personal. We personally know all the villa owners, and visit and inspect every villa every few weeks. We look after a limited number of villas and now manage and market 18 villas, 4 our own, including Villa Anjani. Needless to say our life has totally changed. Property info

​Villa Anjani is just a great hideaway set on a small low-tide beach with great views across the bay to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. We are located in the traditional coastal village of Mendira around 90 minutes from the airport. There are laid-back oceanfront restaurants in Mendira which are an easy walk and provide a nice social atmosphere. There are also many restaurants in Candidasa [5 minutes’ drive away] from which to choose and taxis are very cheap and efficient. ​Villa Anjani also has a small private beach that appears at low tide and adults and strong swimmers can find great fun here - or I would suggest just a quick walk through the lovely village to Mendira Beach with is shallow and calm. ​Some of the most famous sites in Bali are close-by, including Besakih (the Balinese Mother temple); Tenganan an original Bali Aga village and the water palaces of Ujung. ​With Ubud an hour away and Kuta 80 minutes away, Villa Anjani is a great place to base yourself for a trip to Bali.

Neighborhood info

There is some great snorkeling right in front of the villa, and maps and equipment are provided. Alternatively, if the sea is rough in front of the villa then it will always be calm at Tulumben and also Amed - another good snorkeling location.The Tulumben wreck is as good for snorkeling as it is for diving. Finally most snorkeling tours run to Blue Lagoon which is close by, and is another good site. There is plenty of action stuff like rafting, mountain biking etc. which is close by and easy to organize, including submarine rides (just 10 minutes away and you can dive outside the submarine as it goes down). Also there are some great walks (Tirta Gangga to Tenganan is one of our favourites) or if you are feeling really active you can always climb up Batur or even Mount Agung one night/morning.
