Our family-run hotel and friendly staff are from Bukit Lawang. We grew up respecting the jungle and its inhabitants, playing in the river, playing music, cooking great Indonesian food (and Western if you prefer), and our staff and friends are some of the best guides around. We enjoy getting to know our guests, who come from all over the world and we like to think they leave feeling part of our family.
Bukit Lawang is a charming village located on the eastern side of Gunung Leuser National Park. Easily accessible from Medan (3-4 hours) and other areas of North Sumatra, Bukit Lawang is famous for being one of the few places in the world to see orangutans in the wild. Set along a beautiful river, our village is a great base to explore the jungle, caves, go tubing or to just relax and enjoy the scenery.
