Located in the beautiful village of Portsalon. The Crossroad's House is a superior house for a big family or group with space for 12 guests, 6 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is a large back garden with an outside seating area. Guests also have access to a shared indoor playroom with games and activities for all ages, including a pool table, ping pong table, air hockey and a children's jungle gym and ball pit. This house is one of Portsalon's historic homes, owned by the same family for over 80 years. This house was renovated in June 2021 with a new kitchen and updated amenities.

From the front door of the cottage it takes less than 10 minutes walk to reach the wonderful blue flag Portsalon beach. Another few minutes walk bring you to the entrance to the golf links. Portsalon Golf Club has been extensively redesigned in the last few years and is now one of the finest links courses in Donegal. The heart of Portsalon village is the pier area, featuring beautiful views of the ocean and Portsalon beach, and a local pub The Stores Bar. Both are family-friendly and kayaks and pedal boats can be hired from The Stores. Fishing from the pier is also a popular activity. Less than 2 km from the cottage are the superb Ballydaheen Gardens. These Japanese and English-style gardens slope all the way down to the shores of Lough Swilly. The gardens meet the shore at the famous 7 Arches - these are a series of seven interconnecting sea caves that have been excavated by the action of waves on ancient limestone rock. A further 5 km along the scenic coast road is the tip of the Fanad Peninsula - Fanad Head. Here Lough Swilly meets the wild Atlantic - watched over by the impressive Fanad Lighthouse. Moving south from Portsalon a 25-minute drive along the spectacular Knockalla Coast Road brings you to the seaside resort of Rathmullan. Here you will find a number of fine restaurants and lively pubs. At the pier, a summertime car ferry links Rathmullan and Buncrana - which brings the majestic Inishowen Peninsula within easier reach of the holiday home. There are a number of excellent golf courses within an hours drive of the cottage. There are two superb links courses at Rosapenna near Downings. There are also good courses at Dunfanaghy and Letterkenny. Within an hour and half's drive, there are the renowned courses at Murvagh and at Ballyliffen. Other leisure activities nearby include fishing, horse riding, water sports and scenic drives. Letterkenny, 30 mins drive, offers good shopping, pubs & restaurants, theatre, cinema and museums.
