The apartment is situated overlooking the town of Kilrush and the River Shannon with the historic monastic site of Scattery Island. We are situated within walking distance of the town centre with traditional pubs, restaurants and shops. Tours are operated from Kilrush Marina to Scattery Island Ferries as well as dolphin watching on the Shannon estuary. This is located only a short drive from the house, as is the Vandeleur Walled Garden & Woodlands. We are within a 2 minutes drive of Kilrush Golf Course and 15 minutes from Kilkee and the International Golf Links in Doonbeg. We are also located 10 minutes from Shannon Ferries (Killimer to Tarbert). Our accommodation is a non smoking house, located in beautiful quiet surrounds, with private car parking for our guests. Each bedroom has a flat screen television, timber floors are dominant throughout the house, and the delightful open plan living/dining/kitchen is stylish, modern and comfortable. Our beautiful gardens and patio offers additional seating options. The Living/Dining/Kitchen area features flat screen TV, comfortable seating, large dining table and a fully equipped modern kitchen.

Kilrush is a busy market and heritage town with access to the Shannon River. One of the most interesting attractions is Scattery Island, which can also be reached by a boat from the marina. It has been an ecclesiastical centre since early times. A monastery, reputedly founded there by St Senan in the sixth century, suffered under the Vikings in the ninth and tenth centuries and was largely destroyed in Tudor times. Scattery Island has also served as a harbour for the Spanish Armada and as a defense outpost for the English government. Various ruins on the Island tell about its interesting history, the visitor centre is open in season. There are daily boat trips from Kilrush Marina to the Island. Vandeleur Walled Garden in Kilrush Woods occupies 170 hectares east of the town and was formerly the Vandeleur Demesne. The wood contains beautiful, mature trees planted in the 18th century. The revived Vandeleur Walled Garden specialises in sub-tropical and southern hemisphere plants. The Visitor Center has the "Kilrush in Landlord Times" exhibition. Kilrush also hosts a number of traditional Irish Pubs with traditional music sessions all year round.
