The location was perfect and the hosts were so sweet. There is not really a lot for where to eat breakfast in/near Doolin, so the included breakfast was perfect to start the day before going to explore .

Pier House is nestled on the edge of beautiful, mystical Doolin bay overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Pier House is just a short walk from Doolin Pier. We are lucky to have amazing uninterrupted views of the Cliffs of Moher, The Aran islands, Dún a Gór castle and Doolin bay!! We are situated near Doolin pitch and putt course, bars, restaurants, craft and music shops. We are an ideal base from which to explore the Burren. You can take the Cliff walk or rent bicycles locally. Many guests visit Doolin cave, the Burren perfumery, Pol na Brón, Moher hill farm and clare jam shop. Here at Pier House we love to cook and we serve an extensive breakfast menu. Relax in our dining room overlooking the cliffs and the bay. You can start with our selection of fruits, cereals, juices, cold meats and cheeses, croissants, homemade bread and preserves. We will then ask you to select from a variety of Breakfast choices which include Full Irish, Scrambled eggs and Smoked salmon/bacon, Special porridge made with irish cream licquer, Buttermilk Pancakes served with nuttella, banana or maple syrup, savoury and vegetarian omelettes.
We love music and the Irish language. Michael likes to relax by playing accordion in the local bars which all have music sessions nightly. We speak fluent Irish which is the language of The Aran Islands and we are happy to share this with our guests. Irish, the sounds of the sea and the unique landscape of Doolin can all be heard as an influence in the lilt of local music. We love history and we are always happy to chat with guests about local history.
Doolin is a small, quaint, unspoiled village in County Clare on the west coast of Ireland. It is surrounded by a unique landscape and the Atlantic Ocean. Small hilly fields are surrounded by ancient stone walls which compliment the stony landscape of the Burren. Everyday in Doolin is unique as the light changes creating skies of many hues. large stones are scattered along the shore where the sea has deposited them and they give a mystical impression of a giants playground. This area is a photographers dream as the sea crashes against the rocks and cliffs with dramatic effect and the sound of the sea is happily providing constant engagement with the elements. There are many attractions locally including The Cliffs of Moher, The Aran Islands, Doolin cave and the unique ancient topography of the Burren. Guests can take the cliff walk where you will see a variety of sea birds which include beautiful Puffins. Wild Hares can be seen hopping across the lawn early in the morning. Bike rental is available locally and water sports are popular on nearby Lahinch strand. These include Kayaking, surfing, windsurfing and scuba diving. You can relax with a game of pitch and putt or golf also.
