The Roisin Dubh Houseboat is a wide beam barge built in 1999 and was a family home for the owners, Ger, Carolina and children for 10 years. It was designed for living, feels spacious and is ideal for families as a base to explore Ireland's Ancient East. She is moored on the Grand Canal in Sallins, County Kildare. The village boasts award winning restaurants, is easy to get to by road and rail and is only 25 minutes from Dublin city.

The family now lives in Wicklow, but I'm still on the water most days as Skipper on the M.V. Amo Barge. It's a licensed passenger barge providing bargetrips on the Grand Canal and operates from right beside the Roisin Dubh.

Sallins is a busy inland harbour village with waterfront restaurants, boats, barges and a brewery. Its only 25 minutes to Dublin on the regular arrow train service and is an excellent base to explore Ireland's Ancient East.
