Tucked under the shade of apricot trees and surrounded by the greens of lettuce plants, Serdung guest house is a family owned homestay. It is run by a retired couple - Norboo and Dolma, who take immense pride and joy in serving guests with pleasant stay. When you meet them, you’ll see how they go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Our rooms There are 15 double rooms with attached bathrooms (en-suite). We also offer extra beds on request. All rooms are equipped with flat screen televisions and have high-speed Wifi connectivity. Towels and linen are provided. Food Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided on request. Food is always prepared fresh (mostly organic - from our homegrown garden) in our kitchen. We serve home-cooked food made with love and eat the same food as our guests (dine with the guests). We pay great attention to ensure that the food we serve is of the highest quality.

Today, Norboo runs an NGO named CENSFOOD - Centre for sustainable development and food security in Ladakh, under which the nomad communities of Ladakh are supported with food and shelter supplies, to save them from the harsh winter months when they get cut off from the rest of the world! The NGO also supports the education of local kids, providing 80 percent free education. Feel free to chat with Norboo about the different projects. Dolma, on the other hand, is the sweetest lady you will ever meet! An ex-teacher, she now finds her happiness in cooking and feeding guests (until pigged out!) along with reading chants and prayers of Buddhism. What our guests say... We are located in a quiet residential area of Leh. It is 10-15 mins walking distance from the main market, 15 mins to Sankar monastery through old lanes, and 20-30 mins walking distance to Shanti Stupa. You can also book local taxis with the host. We also provide airport pick-up and drop at an additional cost.
