Ásgeirsstaðir is a privately owned property, were we, the hosts Guðjón and Guðrún live. Ásgeirsstaðir site is about 780 hectares in size. In 2001 we began planting trees on the property and in 2015 we turned solely to tourism. We started with renting out one cottage that turned out to be a great success, following increased demand we added three cottages that we started renting out in May 2016. Ásgeirsstaðir is placed in a small valley not visible from the main road 94, which makes this into a great, quiet, and peaceful place. The wilderness around is beautiful, lot of flowers and birds. Guests are free to walk around the property as they wish

What I like to do is to read good stories, voltage and Icelandic books about old times, stories of people who lived here in Iceland before. Watching good action movies. And of course travel into this big world we live in, see something new, eat good food and relax.

Ásgeirsstaðir places is centrally located in the east, only 12 km from the town where there are grocery stores and restaurant. It´s a good idea to go shopping before you arrive if guests want to cook at “home”. All the cottages contain a small kitchenette, with all the utensils that you should need to prepare a great meal, and a barbecue. Ásgeirsstaðir has beautiful surroundings, the main places in the East, are for example, Seyðisfjörður, Borgarfjörður, Hengifoss and many more interesting places
