Property info

Located away from the hustle and bustle in a beautiful river valley in northwest Iceland, this family-run guest house is 20 minutes’ drive from the village of Hvammstangi. We offer wifi in most of our rooms and in the lounge around the reception. Brekkulækur's old house was built in 1936 and has been lovingly renovated and offers small, individual guest rooms with shared facilities. In the newly built part there are double and multi-bed rooms with private bathrooms, as well as a bright, friendly apartment for up to 5 people. Our small restaurant is open from June - August during the times that we are hosting group travelers. Please inquire in advance by phone or email if you would like to have dinner with us. Breakfast is automatically included with every booking. Various attractions such as a nearby seal colony, waterfalls, hot springs, museums and tourist attractions of various kinds are waiting for you. For experienced riders, horseback riding is possible on prior request. We and are two dogs are happy to welcome you here!
