Búvellir Guesthouse is a small guesthouse located on a farm in Northeast Iceland. It is in Aðaldalur which is a valley in between Lake Mývatn and Húsavík.
We offer 37fm one bedroom house that can fit up to 4 persons.
It has 1 double bed and a sofa bed, private bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and a terrace with a beautiful view.
During the summer months you might see sheep or cows strolling around the nearby surroundings.
Búvellir Guesthouse is located on a farm called Búvellir. It has been in the same family for 4 generations, Snæþór and Sunneva bought the farm of Snæþórs parents in 2021. We built the guesthouse in 2023 and opened it in 2024. Sunneva is a teacher and Snæþór runs the farm. We produce dairy, beef and lamb.
We are located next to Grenjaðarstaður museum, it is one of the biggest turf houses in Iceland.
Lake Mývatn, Goðafoss, Dettifoss, Ásbyrgi and Húsavík are close by and it is less than an hour drive to Akureyri. It is ideal to drive to those places from our guesthouse. To be able to explore all the area has to offer we recommend to our guest to stay with us for 2 or more nights.
