This family-run B&B is located in the village of Budardalur, 15 km from the historic site of Eiriksstadir. It provides simple, yet modern rooms and free WiFi in public areas, such as the restaurant and bar. Wooden floors and shared bathroom facilities are standard to all rooms at Dalakot Búdardal. Guests can enjoy a daily breakfast buffet. Dalakot Búdardal staff arranges horse riding and hiking trips in the surroundings, known as the area where Eric the Red, father of Leif Ericson, once lived. Fishing in the many nearby lakes and rivers is a common area activity. Borgarnes town center is 80 km away, while a local bus from Reykjavik stops just 500 metres from the B&B.

Búðardalur is a charming village surrounded by beautiful landscapes and is an excellent base for exploring West Iceland and the Westfjords. Guests enjoy the peaceful atmosphere while having restaurants, cafés, shops, and essential services within easy walking distance. A visit to the modern Búðardalur Swimming Pool is a great way to relax after a day of sightseeing. History enthusiasts will also enjoy the Leif Eirikson center, where you can learn about Leif Eiríksson and the Viking voyages to North America. During the summer of 2026, our guests can enjoy breakfast at the Vinland Centre between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., with admission to the exhibition included. From Dalakot Guesthouse, you can easily explore the scenic Dalir region, the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and the Westfjords.
