Set 12 km from Varmahlid, in the valley of Skagafjördur, Frostastaðir guesthouse offers accommodation in a lovely, old house. The guesthouse has an apartment with two bedrooms and a shared bathroom on the middle floor (the rooms can be rented seperately) and a studio apartment with a private bathroom in the attic. Both apartments offer spendid view of the surrounding mountains and landmarks. Both apartments have well equipped kitchens but you can also buy breakfast and/or dinner on request.
The owners of the guesthouse live on the Frostastaðir farm and will welcome you. Please feel free to ask for our advice on what to see and do in Skagafjörður and its surroundings.
Frostastaðir guesthouse is set by road 76 which is a part of the "Tröllaskagahringur". This road leads you by the coast around the peninsula of Tröllaskagi, visiting places of interest like Hofsós (the famous swimmingpool), Siglufjörður (The Herring Museum) and Dalvík before arriving at Akureyri. In Skagafjörður we also have museums (Glaumbær Heritage Museum), Hólar (The old church), Hofsós (The Emigration Musueum) as well as natural pools, nice walking paths, river rafting and horse riding farms.
