Klambrasel farm and guesthouse is located perfectly in between the beautiful Mývatn and the town of Húsavík. The farms Klambrasel and Brúnahlíð were originally one farm by the name of Klambrasel. The farms were split up 4 generations ago and the same family has lived on both farms since. We offer accommodation in two different units; The One-bedroom apartment is connected to the main house, has a shared entrance but is completely private as well. The apartment is cozy and homey with a private bedroom, bathroom, living room with a sofabed and a fully equipped kitchen. Guests have the possibility to cook for themselves and enjoy the view of the mountains "Kinnafjöllin", from the kitchen window as well as from the living room. In the afternoon the sun shines on the front of the house and guests can sit outside on the porch enjoying an afternoon cup of coffee when the weather is good. The apartment is perfect for groups and families of 2-4 people. We recommend guests stay for at more than 2 nights. The Cabin with a mountain view was built and completed in the summer of 2025. It is a bright and cozy studio with a comfortable double bed, sofa for lounging, a fully equipped kitchen as well as space for dining and a nice bathroom with shower. The glass front of the cabin has a view of the mountains "Kinnafjöllin" and guests can sit outside on the deck enjoying the view and the evening sun in the summer. The cabin is completely private with its own parking space and is currently available for 1-2 people. We recommend guests stay for more than 2 nights.

Brynjar and Ásta bought Klambrasel in 2023. Brynjar is born and raised on Brúnahlíð(right next to klambrasel) farm and Ásta is originally from Denmark. We are a family of four with two young sons; Ágúst and Markús and a dog, Lúna. Apart from being Guesthouse hosts, Brynjar works in the greenhouses Hveravellir 5 km north of the farm and Ásta works in a home for people with disabilities in Húsavík. We have 4 horses and a few sheep that are staying in Brúnahlíð farm where we regularly help Brynjar's parents with the farm chores. We are always happy to answer questions about the work on the farm and the animals as well as recommend sights around the area.

Guests staying with us for more than 2 nights often take one day to look around the area of Mývatn, a day for whale watching in Húsavík and a day for the Diamond Circle. During the summer there is a nice local restaurant called Heiðarbær only 5 km from Klambrasel Guesthouse where it is also possible to visit a swimming pool that is very popular among the locals. During the fall, winter and early spring the farm is a good place to enjoy watching the Northern Lights.
