Leslie Schwartz and Greg Littlewood moved from the U.S. to live in the beauty and adventure of Iceland. Leslie is an award-winning novelist and Greg is a photographer and former filmmaker. When not busy working, they spend their days hiking, skiing in winter, and enjoying the solitude and beauty of Laugaból Farm. We are delighted to share with our guests the unique beauty of Arnafjordur.
Property info
We are located on a former horse farm on Arnarfjörður, at the end of the road leading from Dynjandi Falls’ parking lot. Our setting is known as “the Westfjord's most beautiful fjord” due to its diverse landscape, ocean views, majestic mountains and of course the breathtaking Dynjandi waterfalls (Icelandic for "Thunderous") . The waterfall - the largest in Iceland - is our nearest "neighbor", just a few minutes away. Our location is a place of incredible Icelandic beauty and solitude. Guests have exclusive access to our mountain, valley, waterfalls and seashore, and can hike for hours without leaving the property, with stone ruins scattered throughout. Our ample accommodations are found in a lovely farmhouse. We offer full kitchen, charming bedrooms and large comfy common spaces with views of fjord and mountains. (Please note! We do not offer meals. We are not located in or near Bildudalur. Search Laugaból Horsefarm. The road to Dynjandi Falls from the 60 is unpaved, which continues unpaved to the Guesthouse)
Neighborhood info
Neighbors are exclusively seals, arctic foxes, mink, and in-season: humpback whales. We are located at the end of the unpaved farm road out of the Dynjandi Falls parking lot, off of 60. We are one hour from Isjafjörður, and 45 mins from Þingeyri. Note we are not located in Bildudalur. Maps show us as the former Laugaból Horsefarm.
