Svartaborg Luxury Houses are located in a beautiful, very quite and remote valley in the north of Iceland. The houses stand on a mountain and all have a magnificent view. The location is perfect for visiting the most popular sights in north east Iceland so spending a few days at Svartaborg, day-tripping to all these sights is ideal . The houses which were built 2020 have a unique luxurious feel, designed by the owners to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A unique place in the north you should not miss.
Rósa and Snæbjörn the owners are both designers who live and work in their farm Rangá with their two children Jóhanna and Jón. Rósa´s granparents built the farm which the couple bought and renovated 2018. The couple have had a successful career with their design studio which was located in the center of Reykjavik. The family longed for a more quiet lifestyle with more closeness to the areas beautiful nature they so love. This valley and the area are certainly fulfilling that dreams.
Svartabor could not be better located when it comes to sights in the north of Iclenad. Husavík is a 20 min drive with world renowned Whale Whatching and the Geosea baths. Goðafoss waterfall is reached within 10 min. Akureyri, the capital of the north is only a 30 min drive, Lake Myvatn with all its natural wonders is a mere 40 min drive, so in fact we are in the middle of the Diamond Circle. Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe and Ásbyrgi also make for a perfect day-trip. Even closer by are endless hiking locations, swimming, horseriding, golf, fishing,skiing and many other activities available.
