Vallakot is a family owned farm. Jóhanna and Rúnar have had the farm since they took over from Rúnars parents, 30 years ago. Now their oldest daughter, Hanna, and here family live on the farm with Jóhanna and Rúnar.
At our farm we grow vegetables and run a small guesthouse on our land. The vegetable season in Iceland is short, we harvest from July until the winter comes. We have some animals at the farm, sheep, chickens and also three lovely dogs.

Vallakot Farm Guesthouse is a small guesthouse, located in Northeast Iceland in the middle of the Diamond circle. It is situated in a green and peaceful valley called Reykjadalur and the village Laugar is only a few kilometers away with a restaurant, grocery shop, a swimming pool and other amenities.
We offer three studio apartments that fit two persons each and a cabin that fits up to 6 people.
The studio has a 180cm double bed, private bathroom and small kitchenette with basic equipment. On the terrace is a hot tub that you share with other guests.
The cabin is on two floors. It has two rooms with a double bed and one small room with bunk beds. Each room fits two people. Fully equipped kitchen and a living room.
Neighborhood info
We think we have great location - we are close to Godafoss waterfall, Dettifoss waterfall, Lake Myvatn, Húsavík the whale watching center, close to Ásbyrgi and Akureyri. Our guest can easily drive to all those places from our farm and we recommend that our guests stay for 2 or more nights so they can drive around during the day, go to do some hiking, see some whales, have some nice meals or whatever they like, and then come back home to the relaxing atmosphere we offer.
