This is a beautiful place. The balcony overlooking the lake was magical — even in the rain. Every comfort was provided. This was our favorite place to stay on our Ring Road adventure. Thank you!!

It was a cute old wood house. No elevator. Aesthetically pleasing. The chocolate bar was a nice surprise.

Super room, spacious with 2 chairs in the room where we could enjoy, out of the wind, views of the Icelandic horses grazing in the fields. Dinner and breakfast were tasty.

Cozy, nice room, great location. It's a self check-in, but we found the steps swept after a snowfall, which was a nice touch.

The house was built in 1907 by Tryggvi Gudmundsson. It´s one of the beautiful ready-made kit form houses in town, imported from Norway in the early 19th century. In the statuesque house, Tryggvi lived with his family and ran a little shop in a corner on the first floor. His daughter, Nina Tryggvadottir was born there and she became one of Iceland's most renowned artists. The house is a landmark in Seyðisfjörður´s shopping and service history. It´s taken on many different roles, f.ex. clothing and convenience store, art studio, home decor shop, café and it was the first diner in town to sell burgers and fries. The 2nd floor has mostly served as a home for the owners but at one time it was renovated for offices. With all these functional changes, the original inner structure and windows were not preserved. Now it´s time for a new beginning. The house is being renovated this winter in its original early 19th century look with some improvements and the plan is to welcome our first guest in the summer of 2016. We hope you enjoy your stay!
Við Lónið is a family owned company, founded in 2015 when we decided to buy the house . It had been for sale for almost a decade and was in dire need for a face lift to reclaim its title as one of Seydisfjordur´s most beautiful historic house. We were looking for new challenges, something that would be creative, fun, ever changing and could go along with coaching the football team and running a home decor shop. Hope you enjoy your stay with us, Maggý and Binni
