When Emanuele Bonfiglio bought an estate consisting of three quaint nineteenth century farmsteads in the lush and fertile rural sector of valley d’Intelvi in 1995, Al-Marnich was born. He had a vision and as an agricultural entrepreneur from Milano, he quickly saw the possibillities. Today, the Al-Marnich Farm and Nature Resort has preserved all the natural beauty and characteristic of a bygone era. Located only 8 km (5 miles) from Lake Como’s shoreline it offers guests a trip back in time with a visual feast reminiscent also of a vibrant country lifestyle. Rooms are well appointed with bedding and facilities to accommodate couples on a romantic getaway or families just wishing to experience the pure and natural surroundings.

Al-Marnich Farm and Nature Resort can boast about its rustic restaurant, which is open every day, and bookings are required to ensure your place. Here is where you can sample traditional dishes as well as the local speciality dishes. It’s not just the imaginative cuisine which leaves a memorable taste in your mouth, but also the loving way in which each ingredient is carefully added to help you have the best culinary experience possible. From its own fields so much natural and healthy food is created: cheeses, goat’s smallgoods (e.g. salami), jams made from local raspberries and blackberries, vegetable produce which is in season and grown on the farm – not to mention the local delicious wild honey. An experience to remember.

There is ample parking on site and cabins have perfect panoramic views amongst some of nature’s most beautiful settings. Short excursions of the area are available at the weekend … The beautiful city of Como, which is about 20 km far from our farm holiday …: located a few kilometers from Milan, “Como“, is a small city of Lombardy, which borders on Switzerland (Chiasso – Lugano …). You can therefore, from our farmhouse on Lake Como, easily reach and visit in a relatively short time all boths the citys (Como & Milan …) and the Swiss cities of Chiasso and Lugano …
