My establishment, whilst modern and welcoming, and offering a wealth of comforts, is inspired by and dedicated to three famous aviators and pioneers of the German Imperial Air Force during the First World War: Manfred von Richthofen, the legendary Red Baron with 80 victories; his younger brother Lothar von Richthofen; and finally Max Immelmann, the second-highest-scoring German ace of the Great War with 17 victories, also known as the Eagle of Lille. His fame is linked to the aerobatic manoeuvre that bears his name. The colour schemes of each room are inspired by the liveries of the aeroplanes flown by each of the three aces.

My accommodation is situated in the Marina Grande district of Scilla, the famous and picturesque beach on the Costa Viola, located at the foot of Ruffo Castle and overlooking the Strait of Messina. It features a long stretch of pebbles and fine sand, crystal-clear waters and a lively seafront promenade. It is just a stone’s throw from the sea and the municipal lift that takes you up to the upper district, San Giorgio. It is also just a short walk from the marina, which is situated in the iconic neighbourhood known as Chianalea – the ancient and charming fishing village known as the ‘Little Venice of the South’, famous for its waterside houses, narrow alleyways and tradition of swordfish fishing.
