The space is spread over 80 square meters, where the authentic Florentine terracotta floors tell the story of local craftsmanship, giving a natural warmth and a welcoming atmosphere to all the rooms. The living room, large and bright, is furnished with carefully selected furniture, including a comfortable sofa, a glass table, an armchair and a modern bookcase. A large glass table furnishes the dining room, for the smart working station a comfortable desk is positioned, complete with high-speed internet connection, integrated electrical sockets and dedicated lighting. Neighborhood info

**Via Calzaioli** is the main drag of historic Florence, one of the busiest pedestrian streets in all of Italy, running a straight and stately 400 meters from the **Piazza del Duomo** all the way down to the **Piazza della Signoria**. The name comes from the old guild of *calzaioli* — the sock and shoe makers — who ran their shops here back in the Middle Ages. But the street is even older than that: it follows the *decumanus* of ancient *Florentia*, the main east-west axis of the original Roman city. Halfway down you'll find **Orsanmichele**, one of the weirdest and coolest buildings in Florence. It started out as an open-air grain market in the 1300s, then got converted into a church and oratory. The outside niches are filled with sculptures commissioned by Florence's powerful trade guilds — including masterpieces by Donatello, Ghiberti, and Verrocchio (what you see today are replicas; the real ones are inside the museum). In the 1800s the street got **widened and straightened out** as part of a major urban renewal push when Florence briefly served as Italy's capital (1865–1871). It lost some of its medieval character in the process, but gained the grand, uniform look it still has today — colonnaded buildings, gray stone facades, retail shops lining the ground floor. These days Via Calzaioli is essentially **Florence's main shopping strip**: international brands, gelato spots, and historic cafés packed with tourists making their way between the Baptistery and Palazzo Vecchio. At night, when the crowds thin out and the warm streetlights kick in, the street gets its groove back — and you're reminded that underneath all the storefronts and selfie sticks, you're walking one of the oldest streets in Europe.
